Solar Thermal Panels - Solar Water Heating Systems :
The Green Energy Team provides comprehensive MCS approved solar thermal panel installation and system maintenance solutions; being highly qualified and experienced in all areas from project concept to completion, in both domestic and commercial implementations.
Solar thermal panel systems for heating water, are the most established type of microgeneration technology, and used worldwide. The system is the most reliable, efficient and accessible form of solar panel installation available in the UK today.
As solar water heating depends on radiation, not direct sunlight, the system can even work when the weather is dull and often at night. When combined with a high efficiency boiler, fuel bills can be dramatically reduced.
Solar thermal panels - Frequently Asked Questions
The Green Energy Team always aim to offer the customer the most efficient and cost effective methods of harnessing solar power and to provide the highest quality and standard of installation at a fair price.
Being MCS, REAL Assurance and REIGA Approved installers, The Green Energy Team can only specify and install solar systems by manufacturers themselves accredited to meet MCS and renewable energy industry criteria. For solar thermal heated water system installations The Green Energy Team specify from Vaillant and Grant UK solar system ranges.
The solar thermal panel concept ….
Solar thermal panels take advantage of the sun’s natural energy and work alongside a buildings conventional water heater. Solar thermal collectors are usually, but not exclusively roof mounted and connected to one of the coils on a twin coil cylinder using a sealed circuit containing a special fluid solution. The fluid can not only only withstand temperatures in excess of 200ºC on a summer’s day, but will also not freeze, even in temperatures down to –25ºC. The pump in the system circulates the heated fluid from the panel to the cylinder where the heat is transferred to the stored water through the lower coil.
Types of solar thermal panel
Solar panel systems are ideal for both new and existing properties; with panels (or collectors) available in two different types:
|
|
|
|
Evacuated tube panels
Are more frequently installed. Protrude slightly above the roof
|
Flat collector panels
Can be physically integrated. No impact to building outline.
